The Scenic Rim is in one of Australia's biodiversity hotspots, with kangaroos, koalas, platypus, lyrebirds and other favourites plus many lesser-known and cryptic species, including many invertebrates not yet named or described. Rainforest, eucalypt forest, mountain heaths, creeks and other wetlands all contribute to a diversity of habitats. A very special place that deserves careful, intelligent planning to ensure the future survival of as much of its current biodiversity as possible.
